On August 19, 2009, the Oklahoma State University Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils co-sponsored an educational forum event for all sorority and fraternity new members. Kim Novak, who currently serves as the Assistant Director for Student Risk Management in The Department of Student Life at Arizona State University, spoke to the men and women on a range of topics. Her main point revolved around making an impact in the community that we have chosen to be a part of. Ms. Novak addressed issues that face Greek students in today’s culture. She emphasized the importance of each individual living by their chapter’s ideals and mentioned several effective ways to make change happen in the Greek community. All Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council new members were required to attend. Approximately 1,000 students were in attendance.
